This past summer, adult coloring books were 6 of the top 20 bestsellers on Amazon, which inarguably makes it an emerging trend. From Huffpost, clinical psychologist Ben Michaelis and Souris Hong, author of bestselling adult coloring book Outside the Lines, “There is a long history of people coloring for mental health reasons,” Michaelis says. “Carl Jung used to try to get his patients to color in mandalas at the turn of the last century, as a way of getting people to focus and to allow the subconscious to let go. Don’t Dress Up the Dog on Halloween

As I add today’s post to the blog, I hear a small dog barking outside my window, or more precisely, crying or yelping. I notice an elderly couple with a child’s toy stroller. The woman is chasing the off-leash dog while her husband is pushing the stroller pursuing his wife. The dog is captured, re-leashed and returned to the stroller; the family continues on their sunny Sunday, autumn walk.  Continue reading
